Getting IP address of Camera

Hi

The biggest single problem appears to be getting the IP address of the camera.. setting it to fixed/static is then needed.

You need to:

1.
Set up 'Cloud settings' on the Blackvue device - this gives it your wifi address and allows it to connect to your local wifi.
This is all that is needed, if prefered can block the dashcam's internet access at router level, or the wifi network you prefer to use may have no internet access - it doesn't matter.

This is firmware cloud settings on the blackvue Dashcam.
Connect to Dashcam Wifi, run Blackvue app, change appropriate settings to connect to your wifi/or multiple wifi's if wifi at multiple locations

2.
Now how do I find the Ip address?

Typically you need to go to Router or DHCP server (usually the same) and fine the new entry or the 'Pittasoft entry'
IP Scanner applications either on Iphone

I can recommend - as long as iPhone is connected to same network as camera it should display its IP
or Windows
http://www.gizmocoding.com/help.html - as described here

This app

Once you have found the ip you can connect and test Blackvue Downloader.
The issue is next time your connect the ip address will likely be different. Oops

You need to go into your Router/DHCP server and change to a fixed IP address.
Please google.
